High, beautiful, enticing, and offers itself as a challenge to both the amateur as well as the more experienced trekker. At 5,895m above sea level, not only is Mt. Kilimanjaro the highest mountain in Africa, but is also one of the highest volcanoes in the world. At the summit, the atmosphere contains less than half the oxygen available at sea level. The varied, spectacular, and often eerie landscapes offer views of giant forest trees draped with a multitude of mosses, giant groundsels, and lobelias of the moorland zone (3,700m), giant heather, grasses, lichens, and flowers of the heather zone (2,700m), hot smoking fumeroles on the inner crater rim, stunning glacier ice cliffs, and other breathtaking panoramic views.
Your typical mountain climb in Tanzania involves us picking you up at the airport and bringing you to AMEG LODGE KILIMANJARO where you can enjoy a cocktail and relax by the pool, indulge in a fitness workout at our gym, or perhaps even take the morning out to explore the locality of Moshi town.
You then go up the mountain on your chosen route. You will be accompanied by a guide, a cook, and porters to carry your equipment. Upon your descent we will pick you up and take you back to AMEG LODGE KILIMANJARO where a warm shower and a few celebratory drinks are a welcoming sight! You spend the night at the lodge and finish your trip with breakfast in the morning.
